The Marginalized Males Funders Group (MMFG), launched in September 2008, is a venue designed to support, inform and equip foundation staff to increase philanthropic investments to improve the well being of marginalized males. This network has emerged from a number of formal and informal foundation convenings designated to address this issue over the last three years. MMFG seeks to provide a consistent space for funders to participate in a community of applied learning, share and learn from best and emerging grantmaking practices, explore areas of intersection, identify opportunities for collaborative work and ultimately allow for a more coordinated set of philanthropic strategies to improve the life outcomes of marginalized males in this country. Additionally this funders group supports a ongoing dialogue and the development of action plans within the funding community to help prevent funder fatigue with males issues.
